A person close to me has recently been diagnosed with an ailment that may soon end her life. Death doesn't scare me. It's the uncertainty and the suffering that are terrifying.
Thanks, Jessi. If there's an upside to this dire situation, it's that hanging around sick and dying women at hospitals- most of whom are unfathomably brave and noble- reminds me that my own inconsequential concerns are laughable.
