And... Action!
The idea struck me as I dined at Dixon's Chili Parlor. Not only would this semi-legendary joint make for a great movie set, I happen to know hundreds of other spots in the Kansas City area that are tailor-made for film. A Google search reveals that "Location Scout" is an actual job title. I've finally found my true calling.

Good luck with the new gig. You'll be great!
btw, my lunch at Dixon's a couple years back remains the single most disgusting meal in my memory.

I prefer my own home-made chili. However, Dixon's is special to me because my husband lived about three blocks from there when I met him.

Now that you're in the big city, Lee, our humble KC joints aren't good enough for you. Is that it? Huh? Huh?
Seriously, Dixon's is more about feel than taste. At least for me. Ghosts are indeed present.
I was thinking, M.V., that you'd take the initiative and make me your first hire.
That's sweet, Donna.

Depending on the director, being a location scout can range from thankless to underappreciated. This is, alas, hard-won wisdom. That said, Dixon's would indeed be a great location.
