Perhaps the best aspect of being
a fatty an epicurean is the opportunity to fall in love several times a day. Reyna's Mexican Bakery on Kansas Avenue represents my latest fling. The fruit-filled pastries are very good, but it's the tamales that make my heart sing.

If this is the same family that had Reyna's on SW Boulevard, then hands down the best tamales in the metro. I'll be heading across the state line soon.

Don't worry, BGO, it's less than a mile west of the boundary. You'll be in and out of Kansas in minutes. (And it's worth the transgression.)

I make many stealth forays across the border for goods and services rendered and find the climate and environment inviting and the people friendly to a fault. Why some of the people I admire the most live in the little hamlets of Johnson County. I've even been known to pine for a NASCAR day at the races (Wyandotte County)so I can unleash my inner hillbilly.
