GIve Me Cornbread

Macaroni and cheese may have saved my life last week. In the midst of one of the most difficult days I've endured, I stopped for lunch at Sweet T's restaurant in Olathe.  The place doesn't look like much, but the $8 all-you-can-eat buffet included a delicious helping of restorative mac-and-cheese.  The brisket, greens and fried fish were very good as well.  The gregarious host asked me to "like" his establishment on Facebook.  I told him I'd comply, but I refuse to "like" his failed attempt at social media.  I'm reviving this dormant site to suggest that an enterprising geek could almost certainly work out a rewarding trade with Sweet T's.

this is a mile from my house, meant to check it out but swayed by the best tacos ever in the same parking lot.

And there's a Vietnamese place directly to the east, Meesha. You have it good in Olathe. Why even bother to travel abroad?

Don't let the dingy entrance area dissuade you, Barleywhiner.

I ate at the Vietnamese place recently, not as good as the one downtown but 20 miles closer :-)
    I still traveled abroad....

The place is so far southwest of Brookside I'd have to pack a lunch just for the trip...

    Hmmm...

I think I've (inadvertently) made my point.

I don't know that it's any better than Niecie's on Troost anyway, Nick.

Hey, Meesha- is the taco place that giant market in the strip mall? Is it carry-out only?

That's the place. It has a large eat-in area complete with a small salsa-bar. They also sell their cooked taco meats to go by the pound, which I've never seen before.

Might have to see if our jalopy will make the distance to Olathe for some tacos and soul food one day or two. Niece's is down the street from me but I will go a ways to find good soul and Mexican food.

Anyone who has legal matters to attend to in Olathe should know that these establishments are a few blocks from the county courthouse and the attendant bail bondsmen and correctional facilities.
