Let Them Eat Cake
Riots. War. A market meltdown. What do the people of Prairie Village do when the world is falling apart? Eat out, of course! Today I joined throngs of Johnson Countians who were spending money like there's (literally) no tomorrow at a trendy new restaurant. The amusingly-named Urban Table is good, I guess, but I might never be able to afford to eat there again.

Suburban Table. No matter what the cute story line this is only a place for suburban women to parade, spend, and gossip. This is as far from Urban as it gets and the price per value is way off the scale in the wrong direction. Would it hurt the owner to smile rather than have that NYC scowl as he picks the pocket of the ladies blowing through.

Well, I have an old friend that is kinda pissed that my husband and I bought our new house way out in "suburbia" as he calls it.
Dude lives in the middle of Prairie Village, between 71st and 72nd. No matter how many times we try to tell him he's in "suburbia" toooo, he refuses to believe us.
::sigh::
I'm not sure we have an interest in checking out Urban Table. We have so many other awesome options for urban eating already. Maybe someday...

We went there Saturday. The tomato salad was really good but the veggie chili was bathed in salt. It was a little awkward when our host(?) asked if we paid at the ordering counter in cash or credit (how am I getting my tip if I get one?) and the entry doors that crash every 3 seconds are alarming.
