Warped

Recieving a USB turntable for Christmas has been a mixed blessing. After spending decades accumulating thousands of units of prerecorded music, I'd finally embraced the utilitarian advantages of MP3s and cloud computing. Now that vinyl is back in the picture, I'm one of those guys again. I've rejoined the ranks of grown men who compulsively flip through stacks of albums at retailers like Love Garden. Pathetic.

I'm just happy that I can translate all my out of print vinyl to mp3.

So why aren't you sending that stuff to me? I'll trade you an out-of-print Scamps album for an obscure Arch Martin or Russ Long recording.

How about an obscure Polish Madrigals recording?

Tina Turner's first recorded appearance from an original 45 where she is billed as "Little Ann"? Tune Town 501.

You wanna talk catalog numbers, BGO? That's another reason to meet up at Niece's.

    HIB,

I only do 45's & 78's RE: Labels and numbers. And at that I do poorly as well. But chicken and waffles sound pretty damn fine right now.

I memorized the numbers of the hits when I worked for LeRoi Johnson. I memorized indie label numbers working with Dan Conn.
